Inclusive sports festival

Sport is undoubtedly a universal language. Leveraging on its ability to foster inclusivity in the community, SportCares presents the second edition of the Inclusive Sports Festival in an effort to promote inclusivity towards Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Held from August 3 to 5, 2018 at the Singapore Sports Hub, members of the community will be able to learn of and try more new sports at this year’s festival.

The Inclusive Sports Festival is part of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth’s (MCCY) Disability Sports Master Plan (DMSP). Organised by SportCares, Inclusive Sports Festival 2018 aims to be the platform for Singaporeans, regardless of ability, to come together through sports. The event seeks to provide Singaporeans with a better understanding of how sports should be inclusive, with opportunities for persons of all abilities to participate, regardless of age, gender, race or religion. Sports has been long recognised for its ability to empower PwDs and improve their overall quality of life.

Many organisations have stepped forward to support the SportCares vision for an inclusive Singapore, coming together to create a fun-filled weekend of sports, games and activities for families during the event. Visitors can try their hand at various sports such as football, badminton and archery, as well as aquatic sports like sailing and scuba-diving, regardless of ability.
