Using VR to educate people on dementia

The Alzheimer’s Disease Association’s (ADA) Academy arm is offering a three-hour workshop entitled “Enabling EDIE (Educational Dementia Immersive Experience)” where you will get to experience how it feels to be a person with dementia through virtual reality and teaches you how to develop a dementia support plan that focuses on enabling a person with dementia. ADA introduced the first virtual reality application in Asia back in March 2019.

There will be two sessions:

  • October 3, 9am to 12pm
  • October 17, 9am to 12pm

In conjunction with World Alzheimer’s Month, the Academy is offering a limited number of places for the workshop at a promotion fee of only S$10 (the usual fee is S$120 (inclusive of 7 percent GST)). The workshops will be held at ADA Resource and Training Centre, 20 Bendemeer Rd, #01-02 BS Bendemeer Centre.
