Automatic patient turning and handling systems donated

IDS Medical Systems (Singapore) and Vendlet have donated six Vendlet automatic patient turning and handling systems to Lions Home For The Elders at Bishan. Lions Home is the first nursing home in Singapore to use the Vendlet system, which is made in Denmark.

The Vendlet Automatic Patient Turning and Handling System helps to reposition a bedridden patient to lateral, prone or supine position for purposes like hygiene examination. It can also be used to move a patient from one side of the bed to another, therefore preventing bed sores.

There are also other benefits with such a system for both residents and the care staff. The residents experience calm and uniform turning in their beds, while the care staff are spared from the physical strain of heavy lifting of the residents. In addition, the care staff is then able to secure the resident and at the same time ensure the resident’s comfortable positioning. The donation presentation at the Lions Home For the Elders was graced by Denmark’s Ambassador Her Excellency Dorte Bech Vizard.
